Trump usually comes off hostile, argumentative, bitter and full of hatred. Last night he changed his tone. As for flip flopping, sure, he criticized US troops being there during the campaign. Substance wise, the speech was horse chit and its purpose was to deflect criticism away from his ineptness. He succeeded in that regard for the time being. It would be helpful if the Dems provided an alternative to the electorate whenever Trump screws up, which is often. But I suppose that's asking for too much.
