TO ALL------------Yes prices have been rising since Friday with
the biggest increases over the last two nights.Mainly 4x4 product
with TI locally going back to 3.00 and spot moving from 2.10-2.15
to 2.50-2.75 with more increases likely to follow this week with
speculators and OEMs hitting the spot to take advantage of the spike.
Korean product has been drying up as well as Japanese and a reluctance
to accept quality of Taiwanese product.
Will this be a shorterm spike?Perhaps but all indications are most
manuf. moving out of the 16meg onto next gen product.
Regards Jerry

Company Press Release

MaxxBass Technology From Waves Ltd. Supports
Motorola's New Audio DSP

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Waves Ltd., today announced that its patent pending
technology, MaxxBass(R) -- a revolutionary approach to delivering high quality bass sounds from
low cost, ordinary speakers, will be supported by Motorola's (NYSE: MOT - news) new audio
DSP, the DSP56362, which is also being simultaneously announced today. Motorola will be
demonstrating DSP56362 at CES, booth D3375 / Las Vegas Convention Center, and Waves will
be demonstrating MaxxBass. For more information about the DSP56362, please visit:
www.dspaudio.motorola.com.

''Waves is a recognized technology leader in professional audio editing technology over the past
decade. All of our systems are based on Motorola's 24 bit DSP architecture. The DSP56362
provides an ideal platform to bring Waves latest algorithm technology such as MaxxBass and
TureVerb to low cost consumer applications,'' said Gilad Keren, president and CEO of Waves.

''Motorola is cooperating closely with Waves in order to bring their proven professional audio
systems expertise to consumer markets,'' stated Paul Bundschuh, Motorola digital audio strategic
marketing manager. ''MaxxBass meets our customers' requirements of utilizing DSP performance
for increasing audio quality and reducing system costs.''

According to Keren, MaxxBass is a bass enhancement technology that is appropriate for any
consumer product which has speakers. ''All speaker systems, including those with sub-woofers,
have a low end cut-off. In small speakers, this cut-off frequency can be higher than 150Hz,''
explained Keren. ''MaxxBass can extend the bass response to include frequencies two octaves
below (about 33%) of the original limit.''

MaxxBass ''transforms'' the low-frequency signal to higher frequencies. In doing so, the system only
has to cope with the higher frequency range which presents fewer problems. This principle is true
regardless of the specific low-frequency limitation relevant to a specific system. MaxxBass will
enhance the cost and performance of both low and high quality systems.

OEM benefits of implementation include:

Improved performance for a given speaker quality/cost
Improved performance for a given physical size limitation
Improved performance within a given transmission frequency band
Lower power/current requirements from the power amplifier
Lower energy consumption from the power supply

MaxxBass can be implemented in the analog or the digital domain. In either case, a surprisingly small
amount of circuitry is required, with virtually no difficult technical requirements. Waves technical
support engineers work closely with OEM customers ensuring easy implementation of the company's
technology.
