That is very impressive. Something from a hole in the ground, turned by the mind of man into something of great value. And it can report the weight of something to 3 significant figures. Very valuable indeed. In the old days one needed a balance arm with agreed counterbalancing weights to determine the weight of rocks and stuff. But much more valuable than even the weighing machine is the dirt which is dug up and turned into CDMA/OFDM chips to enable mobile Cyberspace. That yellow stuff on the weighing machine can also be turned into something useful such as electrical contacts for Cyberspace devices. Total value of all the gold in the world ever produced = several $billions or so. Total value of Cyberspace silicon [including fibre, chips, screens] = $trillions and it's just getting going. Umpty $trillions in value being enabled. One ounce of gold value turned into silicon Cyberspace value has gone from $800 nearly 40 years ago to $1million now. Mqurice
