Richard, what the shortest parameters for MACD can you suggest? 13,34,89 sound terrifying for daytrading purpose, I mean concentrated position with margin could not be held over night. For short term trend identification I use combination of two regression forecasts both with eight periods, one is for close another is for open, so when RFC crossing above RFO it is an evidence of trend turning to positive direction and vice versa. Although this set up works good only when stock is trending and gives a lot of noises when it's choppy. Michael.
