Harvey is more serious than people expected. The US Flood insurance program already owes

the US Treasury approx. $25B. This one is going to cost at least a few $B for sure.

I wondered why it never occurred to Humpty Trumpty to build a big wall to keep the sea out and the land in. In keeping with protocol, we can ask the fish to pay for the wall (the Gulf Treasury Billfish are loaded :) ), after all they are the ones who keep wanting to come in with the tide. That $25B is already more than the Homeland Security's estimate for the human wall, though other agencies think it will cost at least three times that.

I doubt many Republicans in Congress will say much before the filing deadlines in the various states has passed. Republican office holders don't fear the 2018 general election as much as they fear being primaried and losing their party's nomination.
