Ron: All investigations open and close....become active and inactive.
There will be a time were it is inactive or closed. That is not
to say the findings of the case and other information in the
individual files of persons or entities are no longer of use.

All information remains in the repective files and from time to time
may be reviewed in conjucntion with new information. The effect on
a subject, target, company may be cumulative with respect to future
violations and as a weather vane to evaluate new information.

That is how it in most offices.....maybe I am wrong. I work with
every level of law enforcement as well as comliance type agencies.
They all seem to work in similar manner. By law the files are never
destroyed.

When the immediate allegations/complaints have been disposed of you
may receive the information.

If you are received criminal charges related to the investigation
or are to respond to a civil complaint you may receive the information
as part of a discovery. Naturally the civil will take a back seat
to the criminal. You may see neither here. Just confusion. :)
