Technicals is what effects a stock when there is nothing legitimate(fudemantal news) to act on. I think of technical indicators as psychological indicators.


I agree and believe that these psychological indicators are most useful when looking at stocks that are widely held and heavily traded. I guess you might think of them as commodity stocks which represent entire industries in the minds of the great mass of traders. Examples are CSCO & COMS in networking, INTC in semiconductors, and WDC, SEG, & QNTM in disk drives. The technical indicators seem to be almost worthless when dealing with thinly traded small-cap stocks.
