The Houston disaster of "Biblical proportions" is almost entirely self-created by building a city with zero zoning-controls and only a tiny bit of flood control imposed on them by the Federal Government (which they tried to stop being as pig-stupid as they are) allowing building of home on unsecured flood-plains made of clay.

Stupid is as stupid does.

But the good news for Texans is Ted Cruz was blinded by Jesus on the road to Houston and Ted now says socialist Federal government hand-outs to people who built their city on flood-plains is now A-OK and not at all bad.

"Federal Welfare is only bad when the money is handed out in other states," Ted Cruz said, "That's when I vote against it."

The really sad part of the Houston flooding are the home-owners and others have been financially victimized by the people who knowingly built their homes in flood zones.

But as wealthy Houston Republicans will tell you, "That sort of fraud is the beauty of 'free-market' zoning."

You'll notice the homes of the wealthy are currently islands.
