You're making a semantic argument based on the words I used. I guess I would've been more accurate to say Arpaio accepted liability in the civil case, instead of saying he pled guilty in it. So what. It's admission of fault which is the important thing.

Why all the fuss indeed? Giving a PRESIDENTIAL PARDON in a misdemeanor case is certainly making a fuss. Why pardon someone before you even know if he'll get jail time? Given Arpaio's age, there is reason to think he would never have been locked up ... not even in one of his tents that he himself called 'concentration camps" in the August heat where the only water available you have to buy from a vending machine.

...From 2004 through November 2007, Sheriff Joe and his jails were targeted by 2,150 lawsuits, some of which alleged brutality against inmates, t he Phoenix New Times reported.

To put this in perspective, the Phoenix New Times noted that the jail systems in New York, Houston, and Chicago combined were hit with 43 lawsuits that same period. .....
