Jim, Patrick,
Well, we will know whether we're headed for a crash landing or a rocket-like take-off in another month or so.

Jim,

I think you hit it righ ton the head.. NSM wouldn't stop production for no good reason..

Jim,

If one wanted to take the optimistic view...one could speculate that NSM has put a hold on the 6x86MXs and MediaGXms in favor of a leap to much higher speed grades...like 6x86MX-300Mhz and MediaGXm-300s.

I think NSM stopped producing .35u chips. Anything that will be produced in 1998 will be .25u. BTW, that would make NSM the first of the x86 CPU makers to be 100% .25U.

We may not start with 300 MHz parts, but we will get there. Aything made under .25u process will be better that the best Cyrix could do at .35u and less expensive to produce.

250 MHz 6x86MX parts running on 100 MHz bus would become instant money makers, selling at average ASP of $200 to $250 throughout 1H 98.
