I agree with much of what you say, and I see the man's election as a sign that the people need change.

When you have a problem, you search for a tool that can help in the solution. With a nail, you need a hammer. For a fire, you need water. I fear that because there was no real choice, we settled for a hammer to put out a fire. So we get more fire, more heat and an infernal noise.

Unfortunately, solutions do not work in that way. We'll all learn in the process.

I've often felt that collective problem solving does not work, though nearly everyone I work with believes the opposite (because that is what society and research establishments like to see). Collection is good for organization and assembly, but ..... to do something like Einstein did ..... one works alone. It becomes a personal thing.
