No it doesn't.

It doesn't suggest that unemployment is higher. It certainly doesn't suggest that fewer publicly traded companies causes a reduction in employment or jobs.

As for the point about regulation the stats you link to support it.

The decline in the labor force participation rate is a problem. It is partially explained by the baby boomers retiring, partially explained by young people working less (spending longer in school, staying with their parents longer, taking longer for their first serious job, and making less effort to get more minor beginner jobs), partially explained by all the regulations and controls and government imposed costs on employers.
