Cash per share: Last time I checked they had $2/share approx. That's part of the reason the stock hasn't dropped more

Sales per share: P/S= about 1. This is what first interested me in them. It's a classic product turnaround (a "Super Stock" if you've read the book) if they had the right new product set, and lots of other qualifications. The most important one is "a unique competitive advantage". Most of the people on this thread think that is Java - I agree, but they are in the wrong market with their Java apps. Enterprise is butting up against some very heavy hitters who were in the market first, have greater momentum, more money, and better products.

I don't know what the right Java market is (do you see anybody making money on Java except the tools developers). Unfortunately apparently Applix doesn't either.

I love the technology. I haven't ever invested in a tech company which I didn't think had great technology. But the other 1/2 of the business (sales and marketing) doesn't cut it.

As for a buyout - I doubt it; none of the Service companies would touch it (no added value) and the IBMs, Lotus;s etc. are developing their own stuff (the NIH problem). CA perhaps? :)

Earnings report, it says on their website, Tuesday, January 27th., I noticed you posted the 29th on SI. Not that it makes much difference, does anyone know which date, and are we expecting any surprises? I would like an upside surprise, but expect a oh humm.
