I heard it at rallies, but not always using the term 'carried interest'. He would usually point out that 'wall streeters get a better deal tax-wise than steel-workers'. 'Carried interest loophole' term cropped up at later rallies.

I'm pretty sure Steve Bannon was on board with getting rid of it. Maybe that's where Trump got the idea.

Yeah, why don't we treat income from work as instead, ROI from your education for example?

I have both rental properties and a farm, and I invest $ in each, but the money extracted from the farm goes through Sch F and then Sch SE, but money from the rentals goes through Sch E and skips the SE, just like income from investments goes through a Sch D and also skips the SE.

Why??
