I don't know whether they lobbied to keep anyone from undoing it. But it has been there for decades.

It may be the most complex code section in all the tax code. Changing it is fraught with peril because the so-called "carried interest" is a small part of the total importance.

So Bain, this "huge" private equity firm, spent $300,000 out of a total of $15,000,000 in lobbying on that issue during a multi-year period, a time when Romney was really not even an employee of the firm? And you're trying to make something of that?
