For Trumpov supporters now, :"conservatism" consists of fluffing Trump and hating liberals. (For liberals, their liberalism mostly consists of hating conservatives as well.) Trumpov and his supporters have no interest in smaller government, the separation of powers, abortion, rule by judges, federalism, the free market, or any of the things. With the Presidency and both houses of Congress in Republican hands, we SHOULD be experiencing a once in a generation opportunity to shrink government. The ONLY person on SI who has repeatedly called for eliminating Cabinet departments and executive agencies ... like Commerce, Education, Energy, Labor is ME. None of you Trumpsters are calling for this. The rest of you think you've won because Pruitt and Perry and Zinke head the departments now ... even though you would know if you THOUGHT about it that EVERYTHING a Pruitt, etc do will be ERASED and REVERSED immediately the next time a Democrat is in the WH. Considering that Trumpov really did lose the popular vote that's likely to be in 2020. Separation of powers? No, Trumpsters LOVE government by EO, even though EVERY Trumpov EO will be reversed in 2020. Abortion? We're spending over half a billion to abort babies and let Planned Baby Butchering sell their bodies. Free market? Trumpov is promoting himself as CEO of America dictating where corporations make their products, wants to ban foreign trade unless he's negotiated every trade deal (and he's a crappy negotiator and manager). Since when is the President supposed to be the manager of the economy - approving every plant opening and big trade transaction? I could go on but I think this should prove my point.
