Spending would have gone up, and revenue down, whatever Obama did. So yes there would have been serious deficits anyway, but he made them worse.

I've never understood the "liquidity" argument. Can you summarize your understanding?

If your buying for an investment, or for mid term to short term trading, your going to want to sell at some point. In a thin market, selling can move the market against you. Also the spread you face can be larger. With lots of purchases and sales its easier for you (assuming your a large trader/investor) to get yours in without moving the market, and if your not as large well you can have tighter spreads to work with.

What is your big problem with high speed trading?
