<<Why is this still positive news for OXFD?>>

Why you ask? Will if Michael Price (MP) is forcing management changes in Pacificare, What do you think that signals to OXHP's managment, if MP did purchase a stake in the company?

As to your short postion, it's no different that buying OXHP in the 80's and going long on the company. Good luck. :-)

Ivan:

If Pacificare gets Price's endorsement and his call is correct, it should move higher. Oxford, being an industry particiapant, should generally move in the direction of Pacificare.

Appointment of new executive committee consisting of turn around experts and search for new CEO (while retaining current CEO) signals management's resolve to improve shareholder value.

In the short run you have gain on your short. In the long run longs have better odds at Oxford.

IMHO, the talks of Oxford's death are premature.
