I've been tracking the storm myself, it does look like it may actually continue westward before turning northerly, this would take it across the Florida keys and not hit the mainland, AND at a lower intensity... just maybe a disaster may be diverted...

Check out the wind direction on this link, it does look like the winds north of the storm could keep it moving further west and, who knows, miss Florida completely...
