Dallas Semi reported better than expected numbers contrary to negative sentiments preceding announcement due to exposure to 3com and the likes. Does this give some hope to surprisingly good numbers for vlsi? The growth rate of DS is not much higher than vlsi and yet its market cap is almost equal with revenue about 1/2 of vlsi. Compared to LSI, which is about twice bigger and yet valued at almost 3 times as much, I think we are sitting on a big discount with vlsi. If vlsi can convince the market with improved gross and net margin, this thing will be appropriately valued soon.

Jim: Thanks for the market update. I was a little tense there when the tape stopped for 20 minutes, I thought there might have been a late pre-announcement of disappointing earnings. I was so relieved that there was no announcement I put in a buy order this AM. I'm looking to get back in at 21.5......almost there as I write this.
