I don't recall anything about the earth being flat.

Speaking of Genesis, assuming you know anything about evolution theory, I have found the order of creation laid out in Genesis to be remarkable. It aligns with evolutionary theory.

First, according to Genesis, KJV, the planet is all water. Next an atmosphere is formed. Next dry land appears. Next the dry land produces vegetation. Next the water produces an 'abundance of living things' and also birds. Birds being grouped with sea creatures is particularly interesting because birds are now believed to have evolved from sea creatures, not land creatures.

Next God blesses the earth, saying "Be fruitful and multiply". This can be argued to imply sexual reproduction as opposed to replicating through cell division like a single celled organism can. It's important because evolution theory has yet to explain how most of creation is male and female organisms.

Next is land bringing forth creatures but "each according to its kind". In other words, grouping by characteristics, eventually evolving into species. And last is God creating man and giving him dominion over everything.

I suppose the step by step order laid out in Genesis which follows modern evolution theories of the order of earth's development could be just a coincidence, but most Bible students consider it pretty intriguing.
