i don't think trump believes he is beat on the wall. he has the support of the people . if congress doesn't support him, he should go on live tv directly to the people. tell them congress refuses to build the wall. if you read the statistics from news group only 27% support building a wall. i would be interested if those who can vote show up at the polls to vote against representatives who do not support a wall.

Ultimately, the entire DACA issue came about because our government refused to do its basic job - protect the borders. Had they done their job, the issue wouldn't exist. Trump handed over the decision about DACA to congress - and is taking steps towards better control over borders. Along the way he handled the Republicans as a true businessman -- They refused to give him enough support - so he said screw you and reached out across the isle, where he saw an opportunity for getting something done. In the process, he sidelined the Republicans -- who from now on will have to take his initiatives a lot more seriously, lest they find themselves irrelevant, and watch Trump get things done with support from the other side.
