When folk run AGW past me these days, I say, "The present ice age began 21/2 million years ago. During that time there have been about a dozen inter-glacial periods. Some of them warmer than this present one, and others cooler. So clearly climate is always changing. It is unlikely that present climatic change has anything to do with our activity since it began at least 16,000 years ago. Increased production of CO2 will stimulate plants to change their metabolic rate upward as their genetic programming requires. Which is good for them and good for animals, including us. What I'm concerned about is pollution and despoilation of the ocean commons. Fap! Egad!"

This usually leads to change of topic or a horrendous outburst. Either is a satisfactory outcome.
