David S. (1),

I get bored easily. My point:

Intel is a component maker. When you look at the whole world of tens of thousands of consumer products, the finished goods manufacturer commands brand name loyalty, if not 100% of the time, then 99.9% of the time. In the case of PC's, that would be the box makers.

This is an immature industry, I believe eventually the the brand of the box maker (the brand they buy) will be more important than the brand of any component to the consumer. My belief is based in what has happened in the past, and what the consumer market looks like right now.

I could be 100% wrong (wouldn't be the first time). Just an opinion that I've defended many times and I'm sure the folks that have been on this thread for awhile don't want to hear again.

Please allow me to shut up.

John
