While I don't see getting a PC for opening a bank account anytime soon,
I agree with you lock stock and barrel.
Dell is saying that this price cut is related to Asia and component costs. Well if you believe what management says publicaly, You aint spending my money.

IMO,
DELL is cutting prices earlier than they want to, because the competition is way ahead of them. How are they going to sell $1,500 PC's when HP is selling them for $799.

By the way, Dell announced 15 % price cut.
That HP hachine will be available in Feb and the $799 price tag is a
get this 50 % Price cut on the configuration.
Now that ! is competition...
