LB has a long consistant record of dumb opinions and recomendations.
Note that the market has little or no reaction to their latest opinions. Even of the wire services ignore them.

Frankly I agree with the LB read on the semi sector. I don't think we will see a great "January-March effect" rally and will continue to see a slide in the semi equipment stocks that may weight down the sector. A lot of bad news about pull backs in capx spending is still working its way thru the pipeline. IDTI is still burdened by the high costs of building facilities and investing in new technologies. They are still treading water because of the capx decisions that were made over two years ago. It looks like IDT management has learned a lesson in that they have steared Clear Logic into being a fabless manufacturer. As such it can utilize IDTIs' fab capacity or go into the market for cheap capacity. In this environment IDTI will be doing fairly well but it will be toward the middle of this year before earnings move up substantially. I agree with LB that IDTI is in a better position than its competitors and that it should see bumps up during the next few months as they roll out and start seeing the effects of new products. Jan 19th will be the roll out of CLs product line. I expect that there may be announcement as well of OEMs that CL has been working with to convert series of parts. I understand that these OEMs are a "who's who" of 1st tier giants. However, we could also not hear much about specific customers as it would be up to them what CL is free to disclose.

The sector will rally if we get some favorable earnings news out of Intel, Compaq, Motorola, TI and others. If the big boys are sheding margins because of price erorsion and Asian pitfalls, then the smaller stocks like IDT will be moving against the current. I don't think that there is much of any downside left for IDTI and there is a lot of upside potential. But it is unlikely to rocket past the 13-14 level anytime in the next few months.

One thing I don't agree with is LBs 12 month target. One problem with analysts is that they tend to adjust their targets to extremes as the market works for or against their recommendation. They will likely revise it upward once IDTI starts to show results.
