Allen, that's real interesting news regarding WIND and NCI. Here's another item on VIA and I2O: Reference board targets VIA design, EE Times, Jan. 5 1998 techweb.com Excerpt: "Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp. first floated VIA last February as a means of consolidating Intelligent I/O (I2O) concepts with Microsoft's own Wolfpack development effort, to allow definition of generic system-area network interface standards for computer clustering. Based on distributed message passing within clusters, VIA employs elements of the I2O message-passing protocols."
