my canadian friend's eldest, daughter trained for dancing, attended part time education, financially doing better than most by marketing / sales of software development services, traveling, happy w/ boyfriend, etc etc hubbed out of vancouver his elder son quit high school, apprenticed at michelin star restaurant in tokyo, followed by same in new york, vegas, and paid work in hong kong michelin restaurants, then did own private kitchen in berlin, and now running own geewhizbang restaurant in berlin that is the rave younger son is a ranked hockey player heading to college, invited here there everywhere different kid / different path, and all good, and none wasted parents money how fabulous i suppose one could, if so systemically inclined, to separate them into olives and non-olives, but would be pointless, rude, and not astute
