On an aside as a Boston boy, as often as I had visited the USS CONSTITUTION.. aka OL IRONSIDES.. There came a day when I was in my mid 30's and I stood outside of it and all of a sudden I was over whelm with emotion as I considered those who fought for this country, the lives lost etc.

You are correct many do not have the history.

What's the excuse though for many of the owners and players who do know better?

You and I are not 20 something kids whose entire lives have been devoted to playing sports.

And very little military contact. Many of us served. I think that is part of the reason for my anger over this. I served in Germany at the end of Korea. One POV I have not read about are the Black service member's reactions. They must be conflicted. These black players mainly come from poor backgrounds and have had an easy ride though HS and College. The school system teaches them that their upbringing was marred by the White man. They go from nothing to a minimum of 300K and up to Millions.
