First of all, Sony is no longer a Japanese company. Visit any Sony division and you'll know. It's a truly international conglomerate. Secondly, MSFT is the least innovative company in the world. Has it *invented* anything? In business, innovation is risky.

<<<<The Japanese are not that innovative.

.....i agree

.......but the point i was making is that cable will be show big gains over the next year or two as cable companies, spurred on by tci, comcast, etc. make faster internet service available nationwide. the fact that sony (one of the largest producers of tv's) was teaming up with nextlevel was interesting--obviously i know that hitachi, phillips, etc are also doing the same thing.

.....my question: will the cable modems fly off the shelves fast enough and soon enough for us to make some money in this stock. i bought in at 34 and now i see it sinking--what do you think of this Q earnings? will we see more downgrades?
