It is incredible to me that Japan Inc is allowing this to actually go through. Although perhaps they aren't actually allowing it, that is another reason why the press conference was cancelled.

Unless there are hidden clauses, Bain could conceivably sell it off to Chinese interests in three years. Which would potentially lower the value of the Japanese company and transfer still more good jobs outside of Japan to China. And harm the sector in general, although it would take awhile to build enough working fabs to produce enough NAND to satisfy the demand that appears to be coming. Plus of course, three years is a long time NAND-Land. It is at least conceivable that someone will have found a working replacement in that time. Certainly, plenty of people are trying to find one.

But let's see what happens in the ongoing Saga of Sanshiba. Its always sumthin'....
