Rocky,

<Well, it should be fine as hell at $300-$350 bucks for a 100MB drive.>

Actually $299, and worth every penny. 100MB is fine for my requirements. I exchange disks freely with family members and friends because we all have disks and can "pay each other back". The ZIP disks are about $11. I don't think we would be so casual with a 1-2G cartridge. So you see, it's not the media size as much as the convenience, but the compatibility with 11 million other drives and the fact that they are actually shipping now that makes this drive worth more $300. I felt like I was getting a bargin. These drives will come down relatively quickly just like all other new technologies. An initial price of $300 for the laptop zip was right in line with my expectations. Funny how that works, huh??? That wouldn't have anything to do with Iomega taking its time with product development (even at the expense of being ridiculed for delays) and getting customer input would it?? Of course it does. That is how IOM decides how much the customers want and what price they are willing to pay. I was very willing to pay $299 for this drive. IOM has been a market/customer driven manufacturer since KE took over. Laptop drives will come down in price to stimulate volume according to KE and Co.'s plan. BTW, where are all the SYQT laptop drives????<GGG>
