The federal government banned semiautomatic weapons for 10 years between 1994 and 2004, and deaths from mass shootings fell. It's a no-brainer to do so again, and fast.
That's a direct copy-n-paste from the article itself. (I added the emphasis just in case you couldn't find the words yourself.)

I'm not going to explain to you the difference between "semiautomatic weapons" and "assault weapons." Even kids these days who play Call of Duty on Playstation know the difference.
