This is what the hospital says on its website. (below)

I'm thinking WTH. MAYBE they insist on doing a biopsy before letting you get the MRI. What kind of sense does that make?

I have no idea if my insurance will cover it outside of Arkansas. What a mess.

UroNav MR/Ultrasound (US) fusion is a new option for patients with negative transrectal ultrasound-guided (TRUS) biopsy. This new technique fuses pre-biopsy magnetic resonance images of the prostate with ultrasound-guided biopsy images in real time, for excellent delineation of the prostate and suspicious lesions. Performing biopsy with MR/US fusion holds the potential to target the suspicious areas, reduce the number of tissue samples acquired and may reduce the risk of infection, bleeding, pain and recovery time.
Candidates for MR/US fusion have:an elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level greater than foura negative prior transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy with continued elevation or rising PSAa positive digital rectal examination with negative transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy

Was caught off guard by it. I was on Testosterone and my doc saw it and went what the hell. I'm pretty freaked out by it.
