I don't think 6 figures is unreasonable on $50k.

As a new daytrader, in an attempt to test my strategies, I have set aside a portion of my funds for daytrading, and my goal is to increase that fund by 2% each week.

I see this as a potentially expensive lesson, and offset this possible loss by keeping the majority of my portfolio in longer term holdings, but feel the need to test myself in the more exciting arena of daytrading.

It's been 4 months now, and so far I'm ahead of my goal, but it could be begginer's luck, and who knows, I could lose it all down the line. But if these modest gains continue on a weekly basis, this could mean 100% increase over a year (not compounded), but only time will tell. Just my 2 cents.

....and thank you all for the great posts and insight! Keep it up :)
