This statement bothers me a lot because it is simply untrue. The hype you refer to is generally analysis of INTeL's technology, which, face it, is superior, generally Dr. Engle is as much in the dark as everyone else about fluctuations in the market price. Secondly, Dr. Engle has couselled me about the fluctuations and that possibly I shouldn't buy the stock! I am probably one of those "smucks" you were referring to, BTW we prefer "schmuck", having bought at 101, but I certainly didn't buy on his, or anyone else's, recommendation; that was my decision. At that time my reasoning was that the price difference between 101 and any other price I pay will be negligable when I sell in 15-20 years, I stand by my reasoning. >>Well that's what your whole career is about isn't it.
