Re productivity. There was an expression back in my BP days . Go Troppo. When people were sent to ve managers in the tropical islands, there was a risk that they would go troppo. Their productivity would drop like yours. The great and glorious British Empire brought modernity to the benighted barbarian cannibals but there was a lot of self sacrifice in that noble endeavour. You're welcome. Noblesse oblige. Unfortunately, many of the local yokels made the mistake of thinking that because they started wearing pants, tie and jacket they were ready to take over. They did and much horrific carnage ensued. To this day India is an impoverished backwater. 20 years ago we visited and development had stopped after WWII when the British left. Robert Mugabe wore pants but turned lovely Rhodesia into Zimbabwe. Idi Amin. China has not yet ruined Hong Kong, but just wait. Freedom is antithetical to Peking's bosses. The English politely changed the spelling to native pidgin Beijing to avoid confusion. Heck, even the English threw out Virtuous Victorian Values and went full retard British Disease socialism until Maggie was elected to fight a rearguard action. But the crazy English have allowed swarming hordes of jihadists in and we now have Sadiq Khan wearing pants, strutting like a little rooster and comparing Donald Trump with ISIS. History in the making. Centuries ago Moslem marauders would raid English coasts ans take slaves. Now they are enslaving the whole population. Amazing to watch it happen real time. 100 years ago Germany's onslaught was fought to the Versailles treaty. A couple of decades later the Germans had another go and the Battle of Britain was on, fought valiantly, we will never surrender. Now they are giving up wirh barely a whimper. History in the making.
