Curious George: Thanks for that post. Things are getting crazy.

I often wondered about the EMU timetable, but my concern was what if the US markets and dollar tanked. Would they then try to bring in the EMU at an earlier date. But it is all silly speculation for the US is holding up the entire world monetary system, and if they tanked, so would every other currency. This EMU timetable has been laid out for many years in advance, well scripted and seemingly on-time.

In May this year they will announce which countries will join the EMU, but the date of actual conversion or currency usage is not until July 2002.

I found this article especially interesting because it shows what
passive twirps most institutional investors are..what little baa baaers...
couldn't they muster some force or clout to clobber the politicians?
