An examination of news sources informs us the Iraqi military, not the US is causing the collapse of ISIS in some areas. The mass surrenders contain a tiny fraction of fighters since they turn themselves in with their families so they can get food.

Most of the people who are "surrendering" are "too old" and "too young" to fight while others were cooks or were part of the group for very short periods of time. They can't find any (or very few) who actually did any harm (executions etc.). In fact, the opposite is true. ISIS killed their family members and they recorded these killings on the cellphones.

Were they willing participants or forced into ISIS? If they were willing why did they have videos of their family members being killed by ISIS?
