Yo Eleven,

K6 compatibility with Pentiums's:

It appears, so far, that software run on K6 is compatible with Pentium's --- K6 is designed to be compatible. However, the question should be "Does AMD guarantee K6 to be compatible with Intel's processors?" I suspect "yes".

K6 is an excellent processor. It is well designed with very advanced manufacturing technology. If AMD can demonstrate that they can produce this family of devices at high volume, Intel would have to cut prices on the Pentium line even deeper than already done until Merced comes out.
