Yo Eleven,

IBM's Aptiva Computer:

Although I and most folks who understand more about computers would not touch Aptiva with a 10' pole, quite a few computer-illiterate would do so. After buying one, just like many others have pointed out here at SI, these consumers would have to junk these Aptiva and buy real computers in a few months. They would never buy Aptiva again.

John.

Yo11, The brand naming of CPUs is getting like brand names of gasoline.
We all know that all gas of the same octane rating is equivalent, and refineries often fill up several different brand stations from the same truck.
In the same way people are now ignoring the brand name and going with the speed.

The only people who still buy brand in CPUs are those that also buy brand is gas, a shrinking group.
