Guys, I think the best thing has already occurred. Nothing. Newbridge has not warned the street (yet)that they are going to miss the quarter.

The analysts continue to estimate $1.47 for the year. The P/E is not bad based on the current price.

If I were Newbridge, I certainly would not be responding to rumours, I would prove myself on paper. They already have 867MM in sales, when last year they only had 1.3B for the whole year.

Paul, same thing happened yesterday as it did 2 - 2 1/2 years ago when UBS? analyst sais " he thought NN wouldn't meet estimates and stock tanked from 27 to 20;For 1 week, gg. Went on to 69, gg.

The Ascend/CSCC and Cisco/Skystone story does not impress me at all.
The problem is that people lump all ATM switches in the same category
like it was a 3Com card out of the box you pick up off the shelf.
My understading ( and I am not an engineer ) instead is that NN
ATMs function at significantly higher bandwidth and speed levels from the competition and that NN is working on a 700 GB switch that nobody else is.
Also NN sells to Telcos and they are pretty finnicky about trying these switches for 1-2 years first before buying them and NN has done that , new start ups are at the entrance.
Once a Telco hooks up with a vendoer then the refrigerator phenomenoen comes in: nobody wants to haul all this giant equipment out the door: they usually return to the original vendor for upscaling, which is exactly what MCI has just done.Correct me if I am wrong
This is a great buing opportunity. I am considering selling some of my INTCW and buying more Nn at these prices.

Still haven't seen a concrete reason for the current "weakness". We're going DOWN relentlessly, broke US$30/sh, and at this point, I can only think that those rumours will eventually become fact. A truly pathetic way to start the year.
