Tonto,small world-I love concrete<vbg>. Have used many pre-cast products(from Tindall in NC),pump stations,m-holes,pipe,vaults,etc. The hi-rises I worked on were all poured in place,slabs,columns,drop beams,shearwalls,elevator shafts(some were structure iron). We'd pour a floor a week(usually 400-500 cu. yds.), beefing up the mix, to get a 2 day break(hot stuff<g>)
The part I loved the most, was pulling the post-tensioning cables(30,000psi), you could actually bend the slab, if you pulled to much...DD

Tonto, we probably should be talking about RMIL's..er RMCW's proposed plant. I thought I read somewhere that the slab had been poured and the building erected, only to be taken down for repo. If this is the case,IMO it will take longer to install the production machinery, than it will to erect the building. The building shell could be up in less than a week,if there is an existing slab w/already installed utilites.
It would be interesting to speak to this contractor(they generally love to talk about getting screwed quite openly<g>),or perhaps any local inspectors, town permit issuer(zoning board etc.) I live in a small town in the mountains, they're the same everywhere,as evidenced by conversations w/ police depts.,etc.,they love to talk<vbg>..DD
