Potentially a very dangerous effect.

Indexes go up or down. It doesn't really matter why. Stocks go up after earnings are reported and that's how it should be. Adobe came out with excellent results yesterday and hit an all-time high today. There's a very strong chance it'll drop tomorrow morning (after this new high) and that drop might be worth watching because it'll turn around and go back up. Look at what LRCX did after it hit an all-time high.

Besides, I like the CEO of Adobe (but I never base investment decisions on how I feel). It's always the numbers.
