From briefing:

08:35 ET Stock Indications: An extremely strong jobs report sends bonds reeling.
Long-bond trading -22 ticks. However, stock traders attempting to put a positive
spin on the figures, betting that these numbers serve to offset disinflationary fears.
Nevertheless, S&P futures continue to trade well below fair value, with the Dow
indicated to open about 70 pts lower at the open. Lighter equities due to continued
weaknesss in Asia, after Singapore fell another 7.43%, Hong Kong -3.9%, S.
Korea -2.3%. As I write, long-bond recovering, currently trading -11 ticks. S&P
futures extremely volatile.

Good morning Don. Nonfarm Payroll was up much more than expected @ 370,000 (I saw estimates b/t 150,000 & 250,000).
Unemployment was also stronger than expected @ 4.7%. This info sent the bond futures lower initially. However, average hourly earnings was reported @ =>1% (.3% was the estimate).

If you ask me, it's good to see growth in jobs without inflation. I guess it just depends on how the bond traders translate the report....

Take care.

If the futures break below my second supprot of 954.20, I think we may see another 10 points to the downside today. SPH8 has tested that support, but has not clearly moved below it yet.

We've made it 8 out of those 10 points so far and triggered a 15 minute halt in the futures. If my third support does not hold @ 944.30, the only support in site MIGHT be 940. Below that and we're really gonna see an ugly slide prior to the close IMO.
