I used 40% (within the range you posted) to make my illustration.

While it sounds unreasonable when I hear,

"1% pays 70.6% of the taxes",

It doesn't sound nearly so unreasonable when I hear,

"People with 66 times more money than everyone else pay 72% of taxes."

Which portion of my math do you think is incorrect?
