Obama...........took office with the US economy in the peak of the GREAT RECESSION

Caused primarily by Democrats and gutless Republicans who succumbed to the crowd of nincompoops squealing about redlining. Emotion overcame common sense; financial institutions were using the best tools they had at the time to protect shareholders against credit losses. The accumulated results were indeed ugly and Americans are still paying the price.

and brilliantly turned the ugly duck into a ravishing swan

Slowest recovery since....FDR? Suppression of productive activity that drove hordes off payrolls, some eventually even to opiod addiction? There was a recovery in stock prices, though much of that may have been the results of the fraud known as quantitative easing.

If so, more uglies coming and those without a grounding in economic thought will again be shrieking about things they don't understand.
