"TCI Agrees to Use Sun Micro Software in Cable-TV Boxes"

The article concerns the use of the Java language in the set top boxes. I think the important thing here is that ACTV and EarthWeb were working on Java based content according to an ACTV press release in April 1996. Haven't heard much since then regarding "HyperTv" as it was called, but after reviewing the press release it looks like the TCI/Sun agreement is what the technology needed. HyperTV is supposed to allow broadcasters to stream URLs or other contents to TVs in real time Will try to post the original article from 4/96 this weekend.
