most (close to 95%) of lithium used in China depends on import. From Chinese source, The first half 2017, China imported 15,261 tons of Li 2 CO 3 from Chile and Argentina alone.

And also from Chinese source, so far in 2017 alone, about 1 million EV cars sold globally, and 50% of them were sold in China. So the increasing of EV sales in China has been very fast in the last 12-15 months or so. when the Chinese gov. determines to do something, the result can be brutal, LOL
