I think you'll find that republican investors feared the Clinton tax increases would cause a recession because fox news and Rush Limbaugh lied to them. Business publications which are obviously run by right-wing nuts also lied to them and needless to say, they were idiots who were incapable of individual thought so they fell for the lies and pulled out of the stock market just as the Internet was being created. They did the same thing under President Obama. Fox news told the nuts to buy gold. Their ads told people to buy gold. Republicans said Obama was destroying the US economy. Anyone who fell for their lies missed out on the two instances of historic stock market growth. They now hate Democrats because they fell for the lies fox news and republicans told them.
